Kindergarten and School

Lernen in der BSfLThe youngest members of the Beluga School for Life attend the Small Kids’ House. Children 4 years and up attend kindergarten. This not only allows children to integrate into the community at an early age, but is also valued by employees who are parents, or who would like to become parents someday. Furthermore, the project’s own elementary and secondary schools unite continuity and educational quality by allowing the completion of a Thai general qualification for university entrance. From first through twelves grade academic standards are conveyed there. The teachers at the Beluga School for Life are aware, however, of the fact that it is not enough to simply teach children what we adults already know. For how should they do better then?

Children must be able to develop creatively and discover for themselves what sustainability can mean. Therefore, the lessons take place not only within the usual limits of the classroom and the specific subject, but are enriched by learning centers and interdisciplinary and project-based learning.
